About Chinova Bioworks
Chinova Bioworks is an innovative food technology company developing natural, clean-label solutions to help protect food quality and reduce food waste. Our proprietary ingredients are derived from upcycled natural sources, including white button mushroom stems, and are designed to provide effective alternatives to traditional synthetic preservatives.
As we continue to expand our portfolio and scale our manufacturing operations, we are looking for a Production Technician to join our Operations team in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
About the Role
The Production Technician is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and consistent production of Chinova's ingredients. You will operate production equipment, follow established procedures, monitor processes, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Working closely with the Operations, R&D, and technical teams, you will have the opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day manufacturing and the ongoing improvement of our processes.
Key Responsibilities
Operate production equipment and follow SOPs, quality, and safety procedures.
Complete production records, batch documentation, and process reports accurately.
Monitor production processes and identify quality, equipment, or process issues.
Troubleshoot operational issues and participate in root-cause investigations.
Collect and analyze production data to support process improvements.
Support equipment maintenance, calibration, sanitation, and inventory activities.
Assist with process optimization, capacity improvements, and implementation of new equipment.
Maintain compliance with SQF, cGMP, and other applicable food safety requirements.
Work collaboratively with Operations, R&D, and technical teams on process and product improvements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
What We’re Looking For
Education or training in Engineering, Process Technology, Manufacturing, Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, food production, process operations, or a related environment is an asset.
Recent graduates and entry-level candidates with relevant education, co-op, internship, or hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Hands-on approach with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow technical procedures and documentation.
Comfortable working with production data and learning new equipment and processes.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with SQF/GFSI, cGMP, HACCP, process controls, instrumentation, or equipment maintenance is an asset.
